CLOSE invites you to join us for this Saturday’s opening event for Carali McCall’s first solo show at the gallery, INFINITE: Body, Alchemy, Landscape and the Cosmos. During the opening we are thrilled to host a fireside Q&A between curator and the Director of Drawing Now Art Fair Paris, Joana P. R. Neves, and Carali, to discuss her work and practice.
Alongside her role as Director of the fair and her independent curatorial work (recent projects include the co-curation of BLANK, Irma Blank- Culturgest, Lisbon & MAMCO, Geneva 2019; CAPC, Bordeaux & CCA, Tel Aviv 2020; Museo Villa dei Cedri, Bellinzona & Centre d’art Bombas gens Valencia 2021-22), Joana is a regular contributor of contemporary art publications and catalogues and is currently working on her first book, The Female Drawing Machines. In early 2024 Joana launched the Podcast ‘Exhibitionistas’ with Emily Harding where they discuss solo exhibitions as a way to explore an artist’s body of work.
